As I undid the boxes and placed the Marie Calendar pot pies on the pan for us tonight, one of them came out with the crust around the edges all broken up. Well, I know my mom and dad and they, just like me… love the crust! It is almost the best part. I began to try to piece the pieces back together the best I could and quickly realized that it was a futile attempt. I just could not get them to fit together no matter how hard I tried… so I just ended up putting them on the edges as best I could… We always cook them in the oven the traditional way so they will be good and crispy brown when they are finished.
As I was trying my best to put them back together to make it look like they were never broken to pieces, that familiar, still, small voice of my precious Lord whispered to my heart yet again. “Leah, you can never put it back together like it was just like you can never put your heart or life back together yourself. That takes something – Someone – bigger than you are. That takes Me.” Tears instantly welled up in my eyes and my soul shouted “Glory!” Yes, I love the feeling I get when the Lord speaks to my heart. He brings such joy and peace and comfort to me.
When I came back to the Lord in the last few years, I will say I was broken into pieces. I lived for Leah yet spoke the name of Jesus. I tried to do the thing some folks do… live with one foot in each world. Well, needless to say it DOES NOT WORK! The Bible tells us that we have all gone astray…
Isaiah 53:6 – 6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
God promised to heal me and “put me back together” and He is doing just that. Every day I grow more in Him. I wake up expecting to hear from Him and am so thrilled and overwhelmed at the same time when I do! He is an awesome God and I know He loves me so much. He never gave up on me and I am so glad He didn’t. I know I am a work in progress, and I will never consider that I have ever “arrived” until I see Him face-to-face! Hallelujah, hallelujah!
Is your life broken and in pieces? Romans 3:23 tells us that we have all sinned.
Romans 3:23 – 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Do you know the One who can put all the pieces back together? If you do not know Him – Jesus – you are missing the most important relationship you can ever have! When the “woman at the well” encountered Jesus, it wasn’t just by coincidence. There are no coincidences with God. Read the beautiful story.
John 4:4-26 – 7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”
13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.”
Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”
19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”
21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”
26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
He loves you and wants you to know Him intimately. He died for you and wants to share eternity with you!
Psalm 34:18 – 18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
If you do know Him and He has put your pieces back together or He is putting them back together, I would love to hear about it. Share it as a Praise! Hopefully all that are reading this know that God is a Good God and He loves you so much! Call out to Him today to help you put your pieces back together! He is able! He is God! He is the Great I AM! And He calls you His beloved!
