COVERED

As I sit down at my desk and put my wrist braces on and lean on the wrist rest and prepare for the day, I am very thankful I have this wrist rest because it helps my wrists and hands so much since I type all day and since I have Carpal Tunnel it is vital for my comfort.  Working in a call center, I type almost the entire 8 hours in the day.  So, this soft, gel rest really helps.  It has a silky fabric cover and it is nice and soft but offers plenty of support at the same time.  It had been my mothers and I tried finding one like it but the ones I found were either too hard or too short or something… they just didn’t feel right.  This particular wrist rest is nice and wide and long – the entire length of the keyboard and I cover nearly every bit of it during the day, one way or the other.  Taking 100-130 calls a day, it doesn’t take long to really appreciate the help it offers.

As time went on the wrist rest began showing its age.  The wear and tear that I put it through each day took its toll on it.  The nice smooth fabric was coming undone from the gel inside.  The stains from food or drink being spilled on it didn’t add any loveliness to it either.  Plus, the fabric was just wearing out.  Then one day, I had a great idea!  I had some nice heavier fabric at home, and I would make a cover for it.  Shouldn’t be that hard to do, right?  Right!  It wasn’t.  So, now this wonderful wrist rest was even more functional and certainly looked 100% better!  The cover will preserve its life, make it more functional and improve its looks at the same time.  I like that!

I think this wrist rest is a lot like us Christians in the world.  We are born all brand new!  As we grow up and live in this world and life happens to us, we become stained, scarred, thin and somewhat worn out in many ways.  All of this “life” takes its toll on us.  We become so tired of life knocking us down and tired of the ugliness in the world.  Wishing sometimes that we could just disappear into the woodwork.  Then one day we meet Jesus.  He speaks softly to our heart and asks us to walk with Him.  He explains that if we accept Him as our personal Savior He can “cover” all of our stains, scars, tattered and worn-out and thin places with a “New Cover”.  His love, mercy, grace and His precious blood that He shed on the cross.  He will do that for us if we accept Him and become His friend and He becomes our Savior.

When we decide to follow Jesus and become a Christian all of our sins are covered over by His precious blood, and we are like new!  Isaiah 1:18 says that we become “whiter than snow” when He covers us with His blood from Calvary!  Also Psalm 51:7 says … “Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.”  Now we are much more functional and feel so much better about ourselves and life.  He has preserved our lives to live with Him forever in Heaven.  That is not to say that everything works perfectly now that we have become a Christian because we still have to live in a world full of sin.  We still sin ourselves because none is righteous, no not one as it says in Romans 3:10.  We cannot be perfect because we are living in a fallen world and we ourselves are not perfect.  However, when we become Christians, we are covered.  Covered from the moment we accept Jesus until we see Him face-to-face!  And then, we will know Him!  Oh, what a glorious day that will be!

I found a great website (blog – Grace Through Faith) that explains a lot of this.  This article gives us some good information. If you want to read a little more, click here.  Here is an excerpt from that article ARE ALL OUR SINS FORGIVEN?

Colossians 2:13-14 reads as follows, ‘When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.’

The Greek word translated all in this passage is pas. It means each, every, any, all, the whole, all things, everything. This would seem to support the claim that all sins past present and future were forgiven at the cross. It also supports Paul’s statement that at the moment of belief the Holy Spirit was sealed within us as a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance.

‘And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory (Ephes. 1:13-14).’”

There are so many resources to help us along our path to Heaven!  If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  Not that I have all the answers, but I will be happy to find answers for you. I have done a little research in my journey.  When I write an article, I look up scripture and search for the original meaning of words.  I will be happy to answer or direct you to the answers.

Covering our sins with Jesus’ blood from Calvary will make you brand new and your sins will become white as snow … I have had my sins covered up with a new, imperishable cover!  One that will never wear out!  How about you?  Have you accepted Jesus today?  He is waiting for you!  Come meet this Jesus today.  His covering never fails or wears out!  See this scripture:
John 3:16-21 –   16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

He loves you so much!  After all you are His beloved!
