IS YOUR TIMING REALLY PERFECT?

Is your timing really perfect?  Time marches on and we march with it.  Sometimes I wonder about things that most people don’t … lol.  However, timing has proven to be an always working thing in my life as it is in yours.  Let me explain.  I look back on my life and see all the mishaps that I created and that were created due to some choices I made myself and some choices that others made.  In some instances, I was collateral damage and others I just was damaged.  But all things… ALL THINGS… were in their own time for a reason.  God promises us He will work all things together for good for those that love Him and are called according to His purpose. I believe that with every fiber of my being.  Many people misspeak that scripture. Or they just don’t finish it.  I have heard “all things work together for good” and they end it there.  All things DO NOT work together for good.  ALL things work… for those that love the Lord!  Here is the exact scripture Romans 8:2828 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”  Anyway… I have made some of the most insane choices and sometimes they have proven to “work out” in the end and at other times … not so much.  Let me explain one instance.

There is a man that I dated for a short period of time and needless to say things didn’t work for whatever reason.  Anyway, we ended kind of rough and I have often wished I could have shared what God has done in my life since we broke it off.  Well, I had the opportunity one night – finally – to tell him online – how I felt about what he did and how it affected me.  As I was typing, the words just started coming out of my fingers – as they do many times when I am typing what God leads me to type.   I was able to share how what happened to us may have been meant for bad… (evil) but God has used it for good.  The good was to bring me back to Himself and to enrich my life beyond my imagination!  I was the same but better, I explained, not expecting him to respond favorably at all.  Without asking him if we could get together and talk sometime, I simply told him a snippet of what God has done and how He has changed me. He simply said (over email and texting) that I was out of his league now and that he would have to decline. He gracefully declined to even see me to talk and that is ok with me. Why?  Because I have fullness of joy in Christ!  Joy that is unexplainable!  God can do that if you allow Him to work in His time!  I am so glad God presented the time to tell this man what I told him.  But it had to be in God’s time because it was perfect!  I know the timing was perfect because the words to share came so easily. They flowed onto the page as I was chatting with him. God moves me that way. He gives me words and I type them. I may pause and ask God for clarification but He always … ALWAYS … is faithful to give me just the right words to say and I am one grateful lady! God is a good God and is mighty to save!

There have been many other times that I have wanted to contact someone from the past and explain to them what has happened to me and how much fullness of joy I have now. How God has changed my life and how exciting it is to experience God in this way. I pray and God just says “No.” So… I don’t and I let it go. His timing is always perfect, and it may be that He never gives me the go ahead to speak to anyone from my life before. I am just waiting on God to show me His will for the day today and the days to come. I am simply too happy and excited with my journey to run ahead of God now. There have been those that have contacted me though or ones that have reconnected with me and they are so happy for me. The ones that I am referring to mostly are my dear friends from my class reunion. It was so exciting to see them and reconnect with some of them. There are a few that are such dear friends, and I am so thankful they are back in my life! God has blessed me greatly with their friendship. This scripture comes to mind…

Isaiah 40:31 – But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

Is there any dangling ending in your life? Your Past? Have you asked God about how to approach the situation or person so you can have some closure? Is there something that you think needs to be completed or wrapped up but just can’t seem to get done?  Maybe it is not in God’s time yet.  He has the perfect time for it to be “finished”.  Pray about it and seek God’s answer and He may tell you … but then again, He may tell you to “wait” with no other explanation. I have learned that trusting and waiting on Him will bring you the best results.

The above was written June 2014. I am in the process of populating my new devotional blog site with my writings from before.  As usual, I pray about which to add and when.  I have 300+ writings to use so I have a lot.  Then there are things God is showing me now in my current life (2023) that are appropriate for me to add.  This post is a combination of things from the past and things from the current.  As I am reading this to edit and add to and repost, I think of a BIG way God has provided for me now.  It is so obvious to me what He has done and I have to share.

Okay, let me digress for a moment so I can set up the rest of this post.  A few days/weeks ago my little pup, Zuckie, was due for his senior blood work – semiannual check-up.  He is 12 now and seemed to be reasonably well.  Yes, he is a little overweight and has struggled with that for the last several years.  But, otherwise, seems ok.  Well, the blood work came back all out of whack.  Many things were terribly off kilter and needed to be addressed.  The vet office that ordered the blood work is where I have taken Zuckie for a few years since I moved to this location.  They are the closest to where I live and the doctor there saved Zuckie’s life 3 years ago when Zuckie would not eat his breakfast.  Which was VERY strange because Zuckie NEVER refused any food at any time … EVER!  After all he is a dachshund! It ended up that he had a 7-pound mass on his spleen and that doctor had to do emergency surgery to save his life.  When I asked if it would come back, he said he has seen it come back in 2 weeks to 2 years and is usually metastasized throughout the entire body.  Well, October 2023 will be 3 years.

Anyway, that office is very close but never really liked it, though.  Just didn’t feel like the right place.  I suppose it’s because I had previously been spoiled by one of the finest – if not THE finest – veterinarian in the business for about 10 years in a previous location that I lived. I am going to call this vet Dr. C. He took care of my fur babies and me in the most gracious ways and he knows Zuckie from then.  I have trusted him and had faith that he actually cared about my babies as if they were his own. Even when he had to give me dire news about the diagnosis of whichever baby he was taking care of.  One of those babies came down with kidney disease and the other lymphoma.  And Zuckie got heartworms.  He (and his staff) and I have worked together through whatever the situation was.

So, the current day… I did not have full trust in the vet office that had ordered the tests so, I reached out to Dr. C for his help.  He has since retired but I was able to reach him through social media. He agreed to take a look at the test results and consult with me about his opinion and a plan for Zuckie.  However, he would have to charge $95 for his services.  I totally understood and agreed.  I would be paying the other vet so why not pay the doctor I feel most comfortable with.  I, however, would have to wait until payday (1 week away).  God had another plan.

To go forward, let me go backward a little bit again to a couple of days ago.  I had ordered some items from Amazon and typically I get the items within 1-3 days.  They had not arrived yet and I kept getting a notice that the whole shipment was delayed.  First, it was just a few days, then it was a whole week.  Then, yesterday I got a notice that the entire shipment had been damaged and they were returning the whole shipment to the shipper, and I would be refunded for the products for a total of $88.59.  Then there was some $ that came in from the GoFundMe account I had set up to help with the expenses of caring for my Zuckie.  The total amount was $155, AND I got a card in the mail from a cousin with a $20 bill inside.  That, my friends, is God providing – I believe.  I now know and believe Dr. C will be able to care for my Zuckie.

I challenge you today to trust Him in whatever is going on in your life!  Whether it’s good or bad.  He does know what time it is, and he knows what is going on in your life. He also knows you and your thoughts. Remember and cling to His Word…

Romans 8:2828 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”  He loves you so much. After all, He calls you His beloved.
