PERFECT FRIENDS

I have a friend that I absolutely love to be with.  She and I have had so much fun together although it was all too brief and all too few of times, we have been together!  When we met, we knew instantly that we were going to be friends.  There was just that “chemistry” thing that tells your heart and soul that you were meant to be friends.  Actually, there are several friends like that.  But this one friend that I am speaking of lives far off and we (my family and I) have not had the pleasure of spending time with her but a couple of times.  She is not perfect, and we have definitely pointed out each other’s faults at times – in a loving way of course – lol.  She and I have had little bouts of being upset with each other for whatever reason.  But she is my friend and I love her dearly.  I miss seeing her, hearing her, and talking with her.  She has had much happen in this last year as me and my family have.  She is struggling just like we all do with daily life.  However, I do delight in knowing her and knowing that she loves me as I love her.

There is another friend that I have that is also someone that I delight in greatly!  This friend is also someone I love to be with.  We also have had much fun together and laughed and cried together.  We also knew instantly that we would be friends.  This friend and I have had those conversations about struggles, and they have definitely pointed out some of my faults – in a loving way of course.  I have been upset with this friend and fussed and been angry with them too!  But you know what… this friend is perfect.  This friend listens and never gets angry at me.  They never raise their voice in anger or use hurtful words to tell me how silly I am being.  This friend struggles when I struggle only because this friend loves me so much, they can’t bear to see me hurt and struggling.  This friend is never upset with me but waits patiently for me to work through my anger, confusion or whatever and is there when I find my way back.  And like my other friend, I delight in their presence and their friendship!  This friend is NEVER far off.  This friend is ALWAYS right there when I need them.  To listen, to console, to direct and guide, to laugh and cry and to love.

This friend can also be your friend.  His name is Jesus.  He is our friend that loves us and wants a daily relationship with us.  Allow yourself to know Jesus more than just the baby in the manger with the cows, sheep, and donkeys.  He was and Is and Is to come!  He is Immanuel!  He is God With Us!  He loves you so much!  After all He calls you His beloved!
