ARE YOUR EYES ON HIM

Are your eyes on Him… to start your day? How many times have you done what you wanted when you wanted and how you wanted… without thinking once to seek advice from anyone else?  Probably most – if not all – of us live out our daily lives making decisions on our own without thinking to ask anyone.  That is normal – I think.  Sometimes even in a dire situation some of us make decisions on our own without thinking to seek advice.   There really is a better way, especially in the hardest times in our life, just to “get through” life.  Life is so difficult these days because of the barrage of negative and destructive people and circumstances out there in the world.

We, as Christians, have an alternative way to live though.  We can live victoriously each moment of each and every day if we have Christ in our life!  We do not have to succumb to the ways of the world and it is much better for us if we do not even give the ways of the world an inch in our lives.  “OK”, you say… “What are you talking about?  How can I live victoriously?”  You can live victoriously by keeping your eyes on Him.  I am saying that when you wake up – before your feet hit the floor – ask God to help you through your day.  Are your eyes on Him to start your day?  Ask Him to help you make decisions throughout your day.  Then when little things or big things go wrong in your day… stop and tell God how frustrated you are or how concerned you are.  Then you can ask Him to show you what to do.  Sometimes He answers you quickly and others He just simply says “Wait.”  That is a frustrating time I know – it is for me.  But I have learned that if I trudge ahead and do it my way, it never turns out as good as it could and sometimes it is even detrimental to me.

You ask, “Well, how do you do that?” “You just ask and sit and wait for an answer?” Yes. Plain and simple – yes, wait. He will speak to your heart. You have to have a humble and willing heart though. He might not do anything or say anything if you come to Him with a proud, selfish heart. You have to humble yourself before the Lord. Here are a couple of great scriptures that speak to this.

James 4:7-10
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

1 Peter 5:5-7
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”[
b]
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Here is a website that you might like to see and even print for future reference. It is a Billy Graham website that gives us a list of 12 Ways To Humble Yourself. I know I could gain a lot by reading this daily. The Lord loves each of us so much and wants us to thrive and flourish in this world with Him leading us in this life.

If you don’t know what to do or are uncertain on how to proceed with a situation in your life, just look to God and ask Him. He is waiting to hear from you. As I have said before, King Jehoshaphat found himself in a situation he didn’t know what to do, and his response was“…We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12b.  That is a victorious way to live.  It is a great way to live out our days.  I have experienced this first hand in my life.  I have lived without God and with God and believe me… with God is so much more satisfying.  God can satisfy all of your longings if your eyes are on Him in your daily life.  Really!  He will satisfy that longing deep in your soul.  Fill your day with a desire for the Lord and He will satisfy you to overflowing!  Keep your eyes on Him and He can satisfy you in whatever you do in your daily walk!

I challenge you today to call out to God for that problem that you are facing. He will help you through any situation you may be going through. Even something as tough as losing a loved one to sudden death, disease, or divorce. God is there in the valley as well as the mountain top. He wants to walk with you on your daily, hourly journey. Keep your eyes on Him and call out to Him today and get His help. He loves you so much … after all He calls you His beloved.

In Him,
Leah
